Alumni talk on Careers

“Alumni Talk on Careers” is an event organized by the Cyprus International University (CIU) Career and Graduates Center and was held at the Çevik Uraz Center Conference Hall. During the three-day event, 14 alumni who have achieved success in different fields shared their knowledge and experiences with students.
Speaking at the opening of the event, CIU Rector Prof. Dr. Halil Nadiri emphasized the recent significant achievements of the university. Nadiri stated that CIU is among the top 1000 universities in the world, ranking in the 601-800 band in the 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. He stated that this success reflects academic excellence, innovative research and collaborative approach.

Nadiri also stated that CIU, which is ranked 141st worldwide in the Interdisciplinary Science Ranking, is first in Cyprus and seventh in Turkey, and noted that this success has once again reinforced the university’s international prestige. Addressing the graduates at the event, he said, “Keep in touch with your university and continue to share your successes with us,” thus emphasizing the need to strengthen ties with graduates.
Throughout the event, alumni working in law, media, international relations and many other fields shared their career journeys with CIU students and inspired them. The bilingual meetings, held in Turkish and English, provided students with the opportunity to interact one-on-one with alumni.
The program ended with the panel "What Awaits Us After Graduation" organized in cooperation with the CIU Psychological Counseling and Guidance Center. Among the topics discussed at the panel were the first steps into the business world and the difficulties that might be encountered. The aim of these discussions was to enable students to have the opportunity to prepare more consciously for their career after graduation.
The event once again demonstrated the strong ties of the CIU community by building bridges between alumni and students.
