The Digital Future Discussed at CIU

The 6th edition of the Digital Global Future Conference (DGFC2025), organized by the School of Applied Sciences at Cyprus International University (CIU), was successfully completed this year. At the opening of the conference, speeches were delivered by the conference chair and Director of the School of Applied Sciences, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Damla Karagözlü, and CIU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Erbuğ Çelebi.

The keynote speakers of the conference were Prof. Dr. Harun Şeşen, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at CIU, who presented on “Artificial Intelligence and Transforming Entrepreneurship Education”, and Prof. Dr. Rer. Pol. Habil. Eric Schoop from Dresden University of Technology, who presented “How COIL Courses Prepare the Students for the 21st Century: Examples From 2 Decades of Virtual Collaborative Learning”. Following the keynote speeches, participant presentations commenced.

A total of 24 research studies were presented during the conference, which this year successfully adopted a more multidisciplinary structure, bringing together researchers from various fields. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Damla Karagözlü emphasized the significance of the event, especially for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students, as it provided them with the opportunity to present their work in an academic setting.
The event concluded with networking sessions aimed at fostering academic and industry collaborations, followed by the presentation of certificates to participants.
